Some guy whom pushes...his automobile wide open...is maybe not thinkin'...heis only hopin'.
Funny roadside verses such as this one dotted outlying highways across the country from 1930s through the early '60s. Each set showcased short outlines on five or six individual posts become read in series - ending utilizing the flourished logo design of Burma-Shave on the final indication. As highways speeds increased and interstates crisscrossed the country, they passed the wayside.
In April 2010, we first-told you about our intend to restore Burma-Shave indications to Iowa. Our objective was to erect one set of these indications in all of Iowa's 99 counties, each featuring the original jingles...with one small difference: the past sign will say Our Iowa.
Three many years later, we came across that objective...all 99 counties have signs installed!

In little cities...things were therefore tame...we even knew...the puppies by name.
